Conflict-Free Smelter Assessment Program Report

Our Company’s Conflict-Free Smelter Assessment Program Standard List is an independently reviewed and verified roster of smelters confirmed to comply with the conflict-free smelter assessment protocol under the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act regarding "Conflict Minerals." Note: Conflict-free smelters include those validated under the EICC-GeSI Conflict-Free Smelter (CFS) program or equivalent global standards.

  • In 2010, the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act was enacted concerning "Conflict Minerals" originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued final rules requiring disclosure by U.S. public companies on the sources of conflict minerals (see Rule: http://www.sec.gov/rules/final/2012/34-67716.pdf). These rules reference the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/62/30/46740847.pdf), guiding suppliers in establishing policies, due diligence frameworks, and management systems. For further details, please refer to the Conflict-Free Smelter (CFS) Program (www.conflictfreesmelter.org) and additional information (www.eicc.info/extractives.htm).
