The working principle and classification of electronic transformers

        An electronic transformer is a device that can convert voltage or current from one level to another. Its internal structure and working principle are different from traditional power transformers, but it is widely used and can be found in many different types of electronic devices. Electronic transformers mainly consist of a magnetic core and some coils. When a DC power supply is connected to one of the coils, this coil generates an electromagnetic field that changes the magnetic flux on the core. This changing magnetic flux induces a potential difference on the core and generates a current in another coil. Due to the presence of both resistance and inductance in the coil, voltage and current can change between the two coils. By adjusting the number and position of coil windings, the required output voltage and current can be obtained.

       Power transformers are devices that convert high voltage to low voltage (or vice versa) and are widely used in practical production. According to its structure and usage, it can be divided into many categories.

       

Transformer Classification

1)According to the type of structure, power transformers can be divided into oil immersed transformers, dry type transformers, gas insulated transformers, and fully enclosed circulating water cooled transformers.

2) According to the purpose, power transformers can be divided into power plant transformers, transmission transformers, distribution transformers, manufacturing transformers, and special purpose transformers.

3)According to the standards of various countries and regions, there are more classification methods available.


        Electronic transformer, input AC220V, output AC12V, power up to 50W-300W. It is mainly a transformer circuit developed on the basis of high-frequency electronic ballast circuits. Its functions are stable, small in size, and high in power, thus overcoming the traditional defects of large, bulky, and expensive steel sheet transformers. According to the different driving methods of high-frequency switch tubes, they can be divided into self-excited vibration type and separately excited type. Firstly, convert the communication electricity into direct current. Then, an electronic component is used to form a high-frequency vibrator to convert direct current into high-frequency communication electricity. The required voltage is output through a switching transformer, and then secondary rectification is provided for the use of electrical appliances. Switching power supplies have the advantages of small size, light weight, and lower price, making them widely used in various electrical appliances. The electronic transformer is a non regulated switching power supply, which is actually an inverter.


          Simply put, the working principle of electronic transformers is the principle of electromagnetic induction, which is the process of "electricity generates magnetism, magnetism generates electricity".
