Key applications include:

Power Conversion & Voltage Transformation:
Charging piles require converting grid AC power to DC power for batteries. Electronic transformers (typically high-frequency transformers) play a critical role in DC-DC converters by enabling voltage step-up/step-down and electrical isolation, ensuring the safety of both equipment and personnel.

Filtering & Energy Storage:
Inductors, together with capacitors, form LC filters to smooth pulsating currents generated during conversion, suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI), and provide stable, clean DC power to the battery. Additionally, inductors can temporarily store magnetic energy to maintain current continuity.

Power Factor Correction (PFC):
In the AC-DC conversion front-end, PFC inductors are central to power factor correction circuits. By shaping the input current waveform to align with the voltage phase, they significantly improve the charging pile's power factor, reduce harmonic pollution to the grid, and enhance energy utilization efficiency.
